Sliding-Scale Costs

All of our childcare services are sliding-scale, and we are committed to working with everybody’s budget. Our caregivers are paid $20/hour, regardless of whether the client they are working for is paying more or less than that. We do not expect you to always be able to pay the same rate—we understand that budgets frequently change over time!

FOR LOW-INCOME AND WORKING-CLASS HOUSEHOLDS, we recommend…
$10-20 per hour

FOR MIDDLE- AND HIGH-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, we recommend…
$25-35 per hour

FOR GROUPS WITH A LOW BUDGET (OR NO BUDGET), we recommend…
$20-25 per hour, per caregiver

FOR ORGANIZATIONS WITH A MEDIUM TO LARGE BUDGET, we recommend…
$30-40 per hour, per caregiver

Anytime you choose to pay more than $24 per hour for a childcare job, you are contributing to our Collective Fund, which is how we are able to pay our caregivers $20 per hour for jobs that pay less than that. The additional $4/hr serves as an administrative fee, that contributes to our overhead fees and provides a small stipend to our organizers. This is enormously helpful to us in sustaining our mission of providing affordable, accessible childcare to as many people as possible.
